Telehealth is for Everyone

How to Get the Most Out of Your Session

01

What is Telehealth?

The ISO defines Telehealth as the “use of telecommunication techniques for the purpose of providing telemedicine, medical education, and health education over a distance”, while drawing a distinction between this and telemedicine, which is defined as the “use of advanced telecommunication technologies to exchange health information and provide health care services across geographic, time, social and cultural barriers”.

03

Make the Most of Online Therapy

To get the best out of your online therapy sessions, it’s important to find a quiet, private, and confidential space. Ensure you have a reliable WIFI/internet connection and that your devices are fully charged. Make yourself comfortable, have some tissues and a cup of tea or glass of water nearby, and dress as you would for a face-to-face appointment.

02

Medicare Rebates

A Little Therapy is registered with Medicare, allowing Australian clients to access Medicare rebates to help cover the cost of therapy. To benefit from this, you will need a Referral Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, which provides coverage for up to 10 sessions annually.

04

Zoom Video Conferencing

Our 50-minute psychological therapy sessions are conducted using the Zoom online videoconferencing platform. Please download the Zoom app to your PC or smartphone before our meeting and test your video and audio connection. If Zoom or the internet cuts out, I will call your mobile from a private number to continue the session.

A Little Therapy does not provide any emergency services. If you require immediate help, please either call lifeline at 13 11 14, present to your nearest emergency department or dial 000.
